REVEALED: FIVE THINGS THAT WAITITU MUST DO TO WIN THE KIAMBU GOVERNOR SEAT

REVEALED: FIVE THINGS THAT WAITITU MUST DO TO WIN THE KIAMBU GOVERNOR SEAT

By Peter Ndagi.

The controversial Kabete MP, Ferdinand Waititu may be the long awaited savior of the Central people of Kenya. The MP seems to have spotted the snag of his constituent and he is heavily capitalizing on it. The alcohol menace is noticeably the gigantic problem.

Waititu spent the weekend storming bars in Wangige and its environs. That symbolizes the start of a fierce war between him and the bar owners. But Waititu will not have an easy ride to the governorship looking at the political dexterity of the incumbent governor. The following are five things that Waititu must do to defeat Kabogo.

Ferdinand Waititu, MP Kabete.

Waititu must be loyal to Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the last general election, Waititu was almost locked out by TNA in the nomination elections. The party seemed to have a soft spot on Jimmna Mbaru. This is observably due to his deep pocket and his  contribution towards the party’s campaign. However, Waititu’s eminence won the day. The MP must therefore move with speed to become the president choice in the county.

Waititu must grip the youth votes.

Over years, Kabogo has been seen as the darling of the Kiambu youths. The vote of the youths contributed immensely for his election as Juja MP. To trounce Kabogo, Waititu must therefore move with speed to win the votes of the youths.

The Kiambu Mafias.

Ever heard of the Kiambu mafias. Those rich guys who sits down over a cup of coffee and decides who becomes the next MP, governor, or even the chairman of a dairy sacco. Kiambu is not short of the Mafias. Waititu must therefore find a way to win their support.

Money Money.

Money is not the only factor in politics. But obviously, it is a key factor. Waititu should prepare well for what may be the biggest political contest to watch in 2017. Waititu must ensure that his pockets are deep to satiate the campaign mood.

Invest in security.

Politics may not be a seminary. Having lost two MPs in Kiambu speaks volume. Therefore, Waititu must be armed to the tooth to defeat forces to frustrate his bid. You can't win when your name is not in the ballot.
