The Njoro Girls teacher who rapped the girls is a 'man'

THE NJORO GIRLS TEACHER WHO SEXUALLY ABUSED THE GIRLS IS A REFLECTION OF A ‘MAN’

By Peter Ndagi.

Njoro Girls Swahili Teacher.

Someone said that teaching is a calling from the almighty. There is another group of people who are of the view that education is a profession and a noble career. It depends on the magnificent lenses that you are wearing. In my school of thought, I support the former. That any kind of teaching is a calling. Teaching catechism or Koran is a calling. Teaching nursery kids to get the concept of A-Z is big calling. Teaching high school kids as a male teacher is a greater calling. Ask me why and I will give you an answer.

Recently, a Swahili teacher is accused of “Nyambuaring” more than six girls in Njoro Girl’s high school. It can only mean that he is very serious in his part time job. He gets in to the class and he goes like “Leo tunasoma kuhusu mnyambuliko wa vitenzi…kunyambua nini darasa?” the students’ answers collectively ‘Vitenzi’.

The teacher as he teaches he notices how diverse curves have started forming in their bodies. He recalls how her wife at their rural home has deteriorated. She is like the villainous Sachangwan lorry that burnt down. He has nothing to salvage in her. Her bumper is shapeless, her side mirror is broken, and her tires are flat. In the class he sees the opposite; fine shaped everything, protruding twins in the chest standing at 90 degrees and soft skin.

Even in Alliance there are the slow learners. Those you will need to explain a thousand times why when you write a six and capsize the paper it becomes a nine. The teacher while teaching will notice that Jane (not her real name) is in Dallas, USA on a free trip. After class he will order the student to follow him to the staffroom. The teacher is full of anger that the student has been sleeping while he was busy explaining examinable concept.

The teacher doesn’t even get to the staffroom. He seeks to ‘sort’ the issue outside. He wants the student to outline five examples of kunyambua sentensi and bring to him at the staffroom at exactly 10.00 p.m. Yes, just after the preps. The teacher is on duty and he therefore knows that the other teachers would have left to their servant quarters. What happens when she finally come? He nyambuas the kid.

After nyambuaring the kid the women will say all men are dogs. Yes, that’s doggish. How do you molest a sixteen-year-old kid? For Baba so and so impregnating his house help, that is debatable. Now the million dollar question is - should men teachers be banned from teaching boarding girl’s schools? Of course NO. But necessary steps should be taken to curb this menace that is spreading like fire in the Kalahari.

The ministry should introduce a rule. That all male teachers should stay with their wives within the vicinity of the school. Only Kilunda types should be allowed to stay single. I mean those teachers who are officially married to the bar and changaa dens. But again rules may fail to work. Just let morally upright people enjoy Sossion new salary scale.
